Erin grew up in rural South Carolina where baking was a part of everyday life. She fondly remembers baking dozens of varieties of holiday cookies with her grandfather. She also remembers her mother being fearless in the kitchen and willing to try any recipe. It is this passion and desire that brought her to the University of South Carolina
where she received her undergraduate degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management.
She then moved to New York City to attend the French Culinary Institute where she studied Classic Pastry Arts and the Art of International Bread Baking. After interning with world renowned cake artist, Ron Ben-Israel Cakes, she was ready to move back to warmer weather and sweet tea. After working in both Charleston and Charlotte, Erin came back to Columbia to open Silver Spoon in 2013.
